Phyllostachys aureosulcata 'Harbin-Inversa'

Maximum height: 30 ft.
(Yet unknown for zone 5)
Maximum diameter: 2 in.
(Yet unknown for zone 5)
Minimum temperature: -10ºF
(The roots are at least 10ºF more hardy.)

Species in the Phyllostachys genus are often dug in June and ready in September. Occasionally the digging season for this genus can begin as soon as April. To be on the safe side, orders for species in this genus should be placed before April 15th.

Being bright yellow with green stripes make this a very ornamental bamboo! New culms can also briefly have streaks of red in full sun during the early summer.

Despite its name, 'Harbin-Inversa' is not a sport of 'Harbin' since it lacks the ridges exhibited by 'Harbin'.

We've noticed that 'Harbin-Inversa' seems to be a faster grower and possibly ever so slightly more wind tolerant than 'Harbin'.
